August 2017

August was a beautiful bountiful PLUM month. Having a bounty of food right at my doorstep makes me feel blessed. I am by no means a religious person, so I don't mean blessed in the religious sense. But blessed in the sense that I feel like I am where I need to be at this time in my life, blessed because we are lucky to live right here right now, because the whole family is healthy, because I have the freedom to do what I love, to take pictures, to cook, to forage, to grow (in every sense of the word).

Coming Home

...very soon, as soon as the leaves drop from the branches, and the air and soil get moist, I reach the final and favourite step: moving 20 Birch trees, 6 Pine trees, and 5 Oak trees, all of them about 3 metres tall already, from the nursery to the area around the entrance. The wooden sign in combination with the mossy stone fence, the grasses that grow wild, the white trunks of the birch trees and the sweet scent of the pine trees, all of this will make up my dream entrance.
