After all the snow storms of March the garden was quite slow to get into gear, but once it did it came on as a colourful sea, one wave after another of Narcissus, then tulips. I could hardly keep up.
It is always incredible to see the difference between the beginning of April and the end of April. How bare and cold everything looks and then suddenly in the very last minute before May comes around things start to unfurl.
We enjoyed our first outdoor breakfast of the year.
...and I harvested bucket after bucket of lovely Narcissus. Especially the small but lovely Winston Churchill I need to plant even more of this autumn. It was by far the most popular by everyone who visited my garden or ordered flowers.
And, finally, too, came the moment I most enjoy every April: the blooms of the wild plums, what we call Mirabel.
